Who: 

  • Group (Tasks are divided among individuals. Each member’s work is independent of others.

Time: 5 days

Description:

  • Objective: Create a digital board game in Spanish.

  • Tasks:

    • With a group of four students decide who will take each role and goal. Write down your names and roles on a piece of paper.

      Goals:

      -One will create the webpage with the directions.

      - One will create the board.

      -Two will be in charge of the cards.

      Roles:

      - One will be the leader reviewing the quality of the work.

      - One will check the timeline.

      - One will be in charge of technology.

      -One will be the communicator with the teacher.

  • Materials Needed: Go to Flippity.net and click on Board Game. Follow the instructions to make a copy of the template in Google Sheets.

  • Instructions:

    • Edit the template to create your own board game. The game should be in Spanish and related to the Spanish culture. The teacher will provide the theme.

    • The board game should have the following elements:

      - A board with at least 20 spaces. You can choose the shape and color of the board.

      - Each space should have a number and a color that indicates what type of card to draw.

      - Tokens to move on the board.

      - One to three dice to roll and determine how many spaces to move.

      - Two sets of cards that can contain videos, questions, texts, images, or links.

    • Each card should have a question, or a challenge related to the theme, and an answer or a solution. You can also add some fun or funny cards to make the game more interesting. For example, you can have a card that says, “Sing a Spanish song” or “Do a Flamenco dance”.

    • Create a webpage with the directions on how to play your game. You can use Google Sites. Your webpage should have the following sections:

      • A title that includes the name of your game.

      • An introduction that explains the theme and the objective of your game.

      • A list of the rules of your game. Include how many players can play, how to start and end the game, how to move on the board, how to use the cards, and how to score points or win the game.

    • Publish your spreadsheet to the web and get your Flippity.net link. Test your game and make sure it works properly.

    • Share your webpage with your teacher and your classmates. Play each other’s games and give feedback. Have fun and learn something new! 🎲🎮

Final Product:
